Hot hot hot summer days ...and it's only June !

I have been a tad slack with blogging. Quite frankly I have nowt to write about really, same old stuff. However I thought sod it I will write a few bits down if only as a reminder for me later on!

Harry has decided it's great fun to get up in the morning anytime from 530 so am feeling a tad tired most days...but at least we are up and out the door early, missing the midday heat. I was the first one in the playground today at 8am..crazy crazy time! It's quite funny getting in the elevator (whoops lift!) in the morning with all the "workers" I swear some of them huff under their breath at us. Is it because we have the luxury of being outside or the fact we are getting in their way and we should just stay inside "where we belong" hahaha Poor Old Harry spends the whole time staring at them and smiling but most of them are too busy reading their blackberries to take any notice. Shame as I am sure a smile from a cute one year old would start their day off much better than an email !!

I had an interesting experience in our local (crap) supermarket today. As usual there was one person on the tills so I tried to go to the customer service till to pay. However there was a right old stroppy cow on there today who wouldn't let me( they normally do) She was so rude I asked to speak to her manager. He came along and was not really any better and told me to queue up (well he didn't say that as they don't call it a queue here hahah but anyway...) Then I hear her say...that's what I told her...urghhhh I hateeeeeeeeeeee when they do that, so I swung round and said "yes but you were extremely rude with it"...and told him to "sort his staff out" hahaha I am such a cow sometimes but I just can't stand bad customer service it drives me crazy !!!

However my bad experience was rectified in a few short minutes. I had a lovely chat with a sweet old man (86 !!) who chatted about being in WW2 in the UK and sang "I am wild about Harry" I hadn't heard it so I promised I would look it up later on...which I did, I love it ! Then the final icing on the happy cake was when another sweet man stopped us and said, "I just saw you in the bakery...and your son is perfection" How cute was that !!! I love when random people comment on Harry! Well at least the nice comments ...not the horrible ones...remember the "that's not a baby that's a monster" comment ?!?! HAHAHAHA Old bag she was...and Haz was only 11 weeks or something crazy like that !

I am still enjoying being a vegetarian which is great. I am really chuffed with myself!! It helps that my fabulous hubby makes lots of veggie dinners for us....yes H+L lots of 3 bean chilli's but whose complaining - not me !!! I really don't miss meat at all which has surprised me a bit to be honest. However I guess its similar to when I gave up drinking about 8 years ago...I didn't really miss that either. I guess if you put your mind to something it helps. I do take my hat of tho to all my non drinking buddies who found it harder than me to give up...it can be such a struggle but wow the benefits are so huge so congrats - no matter how long or short you have been on the wagon -one day at a time!

I better stop chatting away as I need to make some "England" cupcakes/fairy cakes for the game tomorrow !! Cmonnnnnn Engerrrrrllllaaannnddd !

Oh have added the walking and sprinkler video on here so my aunt and cousin can see it, who are probably the only family left NOT on FB !

hahaha nowt to write about and have managed to write rather a lot :)

Florida !

So finally I can use my laptop again, Thanks Jeff you are a computer genius !

Florida feels like a life time ago already but we have only been back 2 weeks :(

We went to Anna Maria Island..about an hour or so from Tampa...as they say over here it was "awesome" !!! It really was !! White sands, turquoise warm seas...no high rises or chavs with their coolers and stereo systems hahahahah. We went with our pals and their gorgeous wee one which was a great idea, mainly due to the boys having fun with their dads while the mummy's sunbathed !

We also swapped babysitting and both couples got to go out twice ...very nice indeed ! The only issue I had with it was there was a very distinct lack of vegetarian food. I really struggled as it was fish fish fish (and no - real vegetarians do not eat fish !!!). I did have a rather funny conversation with one of the waiters about what I could eat. Firstly he asked if I ate chicken, and when I said umm no, he suggested that there was really only one salad I could have. As it included feta cheese and olives, I looked thru the salads to try and find another one (I hate both of these ingredients!!). I found one which sounded nice that had eggs. He looked and me strangely and said "well you said you don't eat chicken, eggs are chicken " ...yes yes I thought to myself, rub it in why don't you !!!

So I ate well ...lots of salads and a huge amount of watermelon !!! We also spent a night in the Hotel that we spent our wedding night in and visited our wedding spot on the beach - lots of lovely memories!!
It was exactly what I needed and I came back feeling refreshed and relaxed.

Here are a couple of photos...

Some good stuff and some scary stuff !

Lets start with the good stuff !

Harry is now officially walking !! He had fun yesterday at the Skinners walking about from room to room and even out in the garden...I think he must have thought he was in a mansion compared to our shoe box !! He is still wobbly and prefers to crawl but it's pretty exciting nonetheless ! I am going to attempt to add a little video to show you how excited he is at being able to do it !! He looks a tad like a zombie but hey ho he loves it ! Now I wonder what the next question will be...is he talking, is he toilet trained yet....sometimes I do wish people would just let kids be kids and enjoy every moment instead of wanting to know if they have done "a,b,or c" yet ....

The bad stuff...

We were involved in a car crash yesterday first one ever (well other than the time I hit someone in front of me in a traffic jam as I was too busy waving at a pal of mine - this was a long time ago tho hahaha)

I don't think I could have been more scared if I had tried. Having our baby in the car at the time was quite possibly the worst experience I have ever had. Anyway what's important is that none of us were hurt...except a few strained and sore backs today....Thank god for car seats and seat belts...oh and insurance on hire cars! Bloody idiot teenager in a fancy jeep smashed into the back of us while we were at a stop sign...what he was doing at the time is beyond me ...he reckons his brakes failed...yeh righto more likely he wasn't concentrating !! Anyway its all over with now and we are all safe. I had a good strong cuppa (yep it was one of those times I thought I needed something a tad stronger but a cuppa did the trick ok !) Poor H, he was screaming so loud...not sure if it was the loud crash, Jay screaming obscenities or the fact he was enjoying a lovely sleep when it happened (as was mummy of course !!)

Ok so we can't finish with bad news so I just have to finish with some totally "awesome" (as they say here ) fantastic news that is literally just off the press ....My fabulous aunt and uncle have finally ..after maybe 30-40 years together...tied the knot !!!!!!!!!!!!! To say I am shocked is an understatement. I am trying very hard not to make it about me and not feel gutted that Jill and I (as clearly we are the closest to them hahahahaha) were not involved....hahaha ...but seriously as I said just now on the phone after I could get some words out, it's not about us, it's about them and I am totally thrilled for them! About bleeding time !!! Now we just have to get it out of them where and when it happened, they are keeping that secret !! How romantic ! If you read this M+M congratulations once again - fantastic news !!!

That's it for now !

Ok here we go ...

Ok so what do you want to hear about ?!!? Is there actually anyone out there listening??

Well I will just write and see what comes up. This is really more for me to be honest to get my brain working and thinking about more than just nap times and playdates ! Mind you there will probably be a lot written about these two subject throughout this blog !

There is a lot to look forward to at this moment in my life, I am very thankful for all the good stuff happening right now.

We are off on our hols next weekend which I am really looking forward too. We are going with our pals and their kid so should be fun...of course the mums are hoping that the daddies want to play all day with the kids so we get to sunbathe all day...but am guessing this is just one of my many dreams ...

Then when we get back...its full steam ahead for baby no2. I wondered whether to write about this as many people have different views on it. However as most of you know I tend to be quite open about the subject. I don't feel its something to be ashamed about or anything to hide. I also feel that if anything it may give those who are in the same position as me some hope and knowledge that they are not on their own. I couldn't have done it before if it hadn't been for all the support and love I got from those around me, so I talk about it now in hope I get some of that same support again.

For those who don't know (really there are people out there that I haven't bored to death about this ?!!?!?) H is an IVF baby and it took us 4 painful, stressful rounds to finally get him !!! Needless to say we were over the moon that finally the fertilised egg decided to stick and there would be no more needles for a while !

Now its time to go again. This time we are hoping it won't be as stressful as there will be no drugs and its a pretty painless procedure....H's siblings were put on ice and hopefully they will thaw nicely and one again may stick...there are two....ummm not sure of my thoughts on two of them sticking !

We are both nervous about it but hoping the holiday before we start will help to relax us...well it will relax me at least I am sure.

What else is happening...mmm nowt really just taking each day as it comes. Tonight we are off to see Ricky Gervais so should be a fun evening.

This is a rather long post...I guess I will get the hang of it soon and write smaller more interesting posts !!

I am looking forward to seeing some comments on my first post !
